Life and death. Reconciliation and estrangement. Hope and despair. Fire and water.
Isaiah 48:2 assures us that God walks with us when we “…pass through the waters”, and “…walk through the fire.”
For this, I’m thankful. But what about the days we are trudging through the slush of life? You know— when the flu takes up residence, or the car keys vanish, or manuvering through the grocery aisle sparks road rage. Or you’re rear ended or the dog scores while pantry prowling. Those days.
Notice Isaiah did not say how deep or turbulent the water nor how high and hot the fire. Each little sloshy, trudging step we take is watched over. Lean closer, listen for His voice. It is then God whispers “I will never leave you nor forsake you.“
We do not walk alone. Ever.
