Welcome back! It’s been a long time since the last post and while I won’t bore you with a plethora of details, 2015/16 have been years of significant changes for our family.
Some good changes – a wedding, a graduation, my first book publication.
Some mixed blessing changes – a grand new job but 3000 miles from heart-friends.
Some sad changes – three deaths in the family – okay, one was my magnificent Aussie but if you are an ‘animal person’ you understand. (His photo is still in the website gallery.)
Another change is this beautiful new website by Josie at eN Vogue Marketing. Josie has (thankfully) nudged me (well…dragged me kicking and screaming) into the age of interactive and mobile device friendly websites. Everyone, please stop now and join me in a huge thank you to Josie for her patience and wisdom.
As our parenting stages change, patience and wisdom are what we need, too. This is a hard one for me. My brain knows I need to step back and let my adult children make adult decisions and face adult consequences – both negative and positive. My heart wants to protect and warn and remind (Let’s not use that dreadful word ‘nag’.) and advise.
Sigh.
What’s a mother to do?
Pray.
Listen – both to God and to the unspoken words of our children.
Pray some more.
Trust – that God loves our children even more than we do. And yes – it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
I hope you’ll continue to join me and explore your influence as a woman and a mother.
