Parenting is the most rewarding job I’ve ever had. It’s also the least rewarding, the most joyful and the most miserable. I suspect I’m not alone in this assessment.
As the mother of young adults, I can look back and discern what made the difference between the peaceful times and the agonizing times.
Prayer.
The situations/influences/choices bathed in prayer eventually brought/are bringing peace. Why? Because prayer takes my eyes off the challenge (and my opinion), and focuses them on God.
At every stage in life, whether they are four or forty, our children need our prayers. Prayer is a gift that is not dependent on how far away they live or how often they communicate.
So true and perceptive!
